Body In White (BIW)

Envisage can support the full process for BIW from benchmarking and target setting through to prototypes and manufacturing. This is the process of defining what the end customer wants. By identifying the key attributes for the end user, the competitive set can be benchmarked against them, and a desired market position can be defined. From this data the targets for the systems are set to achieve the desired market position.​

Benchmarking and Target Setting

This is the process of defining what the end customer wants. By identifying the key attributes for the end user, the competitive set can be benchmarked against them, and a desired market position can be defined. From this data the targets for the systems are set to achieve the desired market position.​

We work with clients at all stages of this process, benchmarking vehicles, measuring, and scoring attributes, and setting targets.​

Concept Engineering

We turn the designer’s visions into reality, using A-surfaces & materials the engineers’ task is to try to make this work in the real world.​ Concept studies will assess ergonomics and packaging of the components.

Materials will be assessed against manufacturing methods for feasibility, and the overall product design will start to be defined in more detail.​ All issues/conflicts will be fed back to the designers to find mutually acceptable solutions.

Body Closures and Trim Systems

Our engineers see body, closure, and trim systems as a fully integrated form to ensure the highest standards in structural rigidity and crashworthiness. Our team have delivered several studies and engineering development for different types of closures systems.

Using tools and informed judgement we carry out virtual simulations, physical and analytical assessments.

VA/VE Value Analysis and Value Engineering

Envisage engineering team are well equipped to take on any value analysis and value engineering project looking at a products, features, systems, equipment, and material selections to ensure they achieve essential functions at the lowest life cycle delivering the required performance, quality, reliability, and safety.
