Mixed Reality Buck
The Mixed Reality Buck is an improvement on traditional ergonomic bucks, allowing design and engineering teams to further explore user experience of new vehicles during the early stages of development.
The Mixed Reality Buck is an advancement on the traditional ergonomic buck. Designed with powered electromechanical elements and a flexible modular frame; the Mixed Reality Buck enables immersive, real-time simulation of various vehicle configurations and can be leveraged in multiple sectors.
Through combining physical adjustability and Virtual Reality (VR) integration, the Mixed Reality Buck allows design and engineering teams to further explore ergonomics and user experience of new vehicles during the early stages of development.
The Mixed Reality Buck enhances the design and engineering process by offering:
- Enhanced ergonomic testing
- Improved user experience
- Greater design flexibility
- Client-centric development
- Future-proof technology
Key Features
- VR Integration – enabling immersive design reviews and user testing.
- Adaptable Framework – Supports various automotive vehicle set ups (Coupes, 4×4’s, 2/4/6 seaters). Adaptable for other transportation sectors (rail, bus & truck, marine) and aerospace (airplane rows, cockpit environments).
- Custom Control Software – Designed to suit end-user workflows.
- Tailored Configuration – client specified components (seating, cladding, CMF etc.), structural and electromechanical adjustments, and UX/UI integration & VR consultancy.
Control Software & App Development
The control software is developed in house and designed with the end user in mind. Inspired by classic CNC software, the application offers a familiar layout for engineers and designers.
Software capabilities include:
- Individual actuator control
- Preset positions
- Tablet compatibility for remote operation
- Custom development for more specific client needs
Configuration
Each Mixed Reality Buck is engineered to our clients exact requirements. Custom modifications include but are not limited to:
- Custom seating and seat trim
- Steering rack and wheel configurations
- Cladding and trim options
- CMF (Color, Material, Finish) and paint development
- Additional bolt-on framework
- Structural base adjustments (e.g. length, height)
- Electromechanical enhancements
- VR consultancy and setup
- UX/UI integration
